INTRODUCTION
- Tuuletraal OÜ develops since 2013 a unique renewable energy and sustainable food project in Gulf of Riga (GOR) in Estonian waters. Our large 500 MW wind farm fits well in the baseline load mix with other future Baltic Sea offshore wind farms

- Tuuletraal has obtained 2019 an exclusive licence from the Estonian government to carry out environmental studies and subsequently qualify for a 50-year sea area lease that can be prolonged by another 50

- Expected strongest wind climate in Estonia due to considerable distance to all shores and special topographical North-South and West-East wind channels (please see the Wind Climate section, below). Average wind speed has an additional rising trend due to continuous shortening of the average sea ice period

- Negligible visual impact owing to 25 – 30 km distance to any shore line, the wind farm can be enlarged up to 1 GW and keeping still the 25 km minimum distance sacred

- Positive environmental impact: cleaner GOR water and beaches from large scale (1000 ha) mussel production inside the wind farm area. Mussel farming is our main offered compensation measure for the possible losses to the Trawl sector arising from the wind farm operations. Estonian scientific community and local investors from Agriculture, Aquaculture and Trawl sectors should join us to start producing mussel meal for fish feed or poultry from up to 50,000 tonnes of longline mussel harvest per year

- Future LCOE leader in the Baltic Sea area. Involving partners with lowest WACC (4% desirable, source: IEA Offshore Wind Outlook 2019), with Nord Pool generation unit forecast excellence and with strong motivation to complete the project. Thick post-glacial sediment layers allow considering of most efficient and cost-effective foundation types

- Strong focus on cooperation, working with other current or future GOR developers assessing the environmental impact, carrying out surveys and selecting the route for the planned common Estonian-Latvian GOR subsea transmission line with a hub to connect the cables and bring the power to the environmentally conscious customers

- a study specifying bathymetry
- a geological survey of the seabed
- a detailed survey of wind conditions, wave conditions and ice conditions
- the concept of logistics and the organisation of works during construction
- a survey of migration and feeding areas for birds and bats
- a survey of fish and spawning areas
- the impact of wind farms and cable connections on fisheries
- a socio-economic analysis of the need to assess and improve the quality of electricity
- a study of social, economic and cultural impacts, including impacts on local authorities and coastal communities
- the effect on the distinction between navigation marks or lights by water users
- the impact on seals at local level, including potential impacts from ice breaking, and the necessary environmental measures of mitigation
- identify, in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence, the probability of historical explosives and other dangerous objects being found

UPCOMING FUNDING OPPORTUNITY QUALIFICATION

- Nord Pool Spot long-term generation unit forecast excellence
- world leading in lowest WACC

- significant OWF BOO player
- if non-NATO country origin then security clearance of the Ministry of Interior

WIND CLIMATE
Each of the 7 subsets represents 24 consecutive hourly wind speed and direction at 100 m height. Subset header indicates main wind direction(s).Tuuletraal Offshore is shown on the map. Local wind is heavily influenced by 100 - 200 m high Kurzeme peninsula to the SW of the Gulf of Riga. Tuuletraal area, located 30 km from coastlines, enjoys unobstructed air flow from every direction. Especially fortified wind is flowing over Tuuletraal along the WE / EW and NS / SN channel between the landscape features.
